Procedure compatible with the provisions of the TVSZ (Academic and Examination Regulations) regarding supplementary examinations:

a) if a student’s exam is not graded as a fail and the grade has already been recorded in NEPTUN, they may take a retake exam, in one course per semester. In this case, the newly obtained grade must be recorded alongside the previously recorded grade — the system will, of course, take into account the one recorded with the later date.

b) in this case, the correct procedure is that the grade obtained at the second exam attempt is likewise recorded, and, based on point a), NEPTUN will take into account the grade recorded at the latest point in time. In other words: it is also possible to do worse on the retake exam. (Informal note: in this case, the instructor – in agreement with the student – may record that the student did not appear for the exam, so that it does not worsen their grade; NEPTUN does not prohibit this. (The instructor has discretion to this extent.) At the same time, for large-enrolment year groups and courses, this requires extra resources from the academic administration. However, if a student is listed on an exam sheet, an entry must always be made for them. In such a case, the instructor may, for example, request an additional academic task from the student.)

c) the retake format for an originally written exam may be oral. This must always be indicated when the exam is announced.
